She cannot take off her hijab when doing wudoo’ at work; should she wipe over it?. By: Amatullah Feesabilillah

In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful

She cannot take off her hijab when doing wudoo’ at work; should she wipe over it?

Firstly:

It seems that it is difficult for you to take off your hijab because of the presence of non-mahram men in your workplace. If that is the case, then you should note that mixing of women with non-mahram men leads to many negative consequences, such as being alone with or looking at a member of the opposite sex, speaking softly, temptation, and other things that are no secret to people of insight. Please see question no. 1200 for evidence that free mixing is haraam.

Secondly:

If a woman is faced with this problem and the time for prayer comes whilst she is at work, and she cannot delay it until she goes back home, then she should pray in the most concealed place in her workplace, covering her hands, face and all of her body in front of non-mahram men. We have already stated this in the answer to question no. 39178 .

Thirdly:

Your saying that it is difficult to take off your hijab in order to wipe your hair and ears when doing wudoo’ makes us wonder: how do you wash your arms and feet in the presence of men?

You must be aware that the arms and feet are part of the ‘awrah which must be concealed from non-mahram men. As for the face and hands, there is some difference of scholarly opinion, but the most correct view is that they must also be covered. See question no. 11774.

Fourthly:

It is permissible for a woman to wipe over her khimar (head cover) in the case of necessity, such as when it is very cold, or it is difficult to take off her hijab and put it back on.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: It is permissible for a woman to wipe over her khimaar?

He replied:

The well known view in the madhhab of Imam Ahmad is that she may wipe over her khimaar if it goes under her chin, because it was narrated that some of the womenfolk of the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) did that.

Whatever the case, if there is some difficulty, either because the weather is cold or because it is difficult to take it off and put it on again, then there is nothing wrong with wiping in such cases, otherwise it is better not to do that. End quote.

Fataawa al-Tahaarah, p. 171

It says in Sharh Muntaha al-Iraadaat (1/60): It is also valid for a woman to wipe over a khimaar that goes under the chin, because Umm Salamah used to wipe over her khimaar, as was mentioned by Ibn al-Mundhir. End quote.

So long as the khimaar covers the ears, it is sufficient to wipe over the khimaar and there is no need to put the hands under the khimaar to wipe them. Similarly, if a man is wearing a turban, he does not have to wipe his ear too, even if they are not covered; rather that is mustahabb only.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: It is also Sunnah to wipe whatever part of the head is uncovered, such as the forelock, the sides of the head and the ears.

Fataawa al-Tahaarah, p. 170

Fifthly:

A Muslim woman must strive to fear Allaah and obey His commands, and avoid that which He has forbidden, and keep away from working in mixed environments, which may earn her the wrath of Allaah. She should beware of giving this world precedence over the Hereafter, for it is transient pleasures, but what is with Allaah will never fade away. It is narrated in a saheeh report that our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives up a thing for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will compensate him with something better than it.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Hijaab al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah, p. 49.

We ask Allaah to help you to do that that which is best for you in this world and in the Hereafter.

And Allaah knows best.

Will a woman who does not wear hijaab go to Hell?(Part-2). By: Faiyaz Mujahideen Fesabilillah

continued……………

And surely if a women is a muslimah that is she submits her will totally to ALLAH Azzawajal then she would obey whatever Allah has decreed upon the muslims and she will avoid the things which are forbidden by ALLAH Azzawajal without any doubt or questioning and she will also follow the Sunnah the best possible manner as possible.
And obey Allah and His Messenger. and fall into no disputes, lest ye lose heart and your power depart; and be patient and persevering: For Allah is with those who patiently persevere(8:46)

It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path(33:36)

He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah. But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds)(4:80)

Its not possible to be a muslim/muslimah just by following some of the commandments and leaving some. Its as if they are playing with the Decree of The Most Exalted Allah Azzawajal, and making their own way to follow the Divine Way of life.

Those who deny Allah and His apostles, and (those who) wish to separate Allah from His apostles, saying: “We believe in some but reject others”: And (those who) wish to take a course midway, They are in truth (equally) unbelievers; and we have prepared for unbelievers a humiliating punishment(4:150-151)

Is then one who is on a clear (Path) from his Lord, no better than one to whom the evil of his conduct seems pleasing, and such as follow their own lusts?(47:14)

Seest thou such a one as taketh for his god his own passion (or impulse)? Couldst thou be a disposer of affairs for him?(25:43)

So a muslimah who avoids all the evils will without doubt follow whatever Allah has commanded upon her. And Allah has clearly mentioned in the Quran regarding the obligation of maintaining Hijab for both men and women(24:31)

And also when we go through Surat Al Ahzab ch.33 we can clearly see what Allah has ordered to the wives of the Prophets(peace be upon them all)

(28) O Prophet! Say to thy Consorts: “If it be that ye desire the life of this World, and its glitter,- then come! I will provide for your enjoyment and set you free in a handsome manner.
(29) But if ye seek Allah and His Messenger, and the Home of the Hereafter, verily Allah has prepared for the well-doers amongst you a great reward.
(30) O Consorts of the Prophet! If any of you were guilty of evident unseemly conduct, the Punishment would be doubled to her, and that is easy for Allah.
(31) But any of you that is devout in the service of Allah and His Messenger, and works righteousness,- to her shall We grant her reward twice: and We have prepared for her a generous Sustenance.
(32) O Consorts of the Prophet! Ye are not like any of the (other) women: if ye do fear ((Allah)), be not too complacent of speech, lest one in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire: but speak ye a speech (that is) just.
(33) And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.
(34) And recite what is rehearsed to you in your homes, of the Signs of Allah and His Wisdom: for Allah understands the finest mysteries and is well-acquainted (with them).
(35) For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah.s praise,- for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward.
So we can clearly see what Allah has mentioned in the Holy book then how can there be any muslimah who would follow all the good and shun all the evil yet not observing one of the main obligation upon her?

We are obliged to follow our Rasool Sallallahualeihiwasallam and he(Sallallahualeihiwasallam) is our guide and he should be our role model.
We have to follow him and the Sahabas as they are the one who gave us the glad tidings and warned us about the evils

We send the apostles only to give good news and to warn: so those who believe and mend (their lives),- upon them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve(6:48)

We sent not an apostle except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom(14:4)

So to be successful and a true muslim we have to follow them(peace and blessings be upon them all).

We can see in hadiths how swiftly they followed the Decree of Allah Azzawajal without any delay what so ever. When the verse “O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful”(33:59) was relieved its said in a hadith

Narated By Safiya bint Shaiba(Radiallahuanha) : ‘Aisha(Radiallahuanha) used to say: “When (the Verse): “They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms,” was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces.”(Sahih Al Bukhari Volumn 006, Book 060, Hadith Number 282)

Narated By ‘Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin : May Allah have mercy on the early immigrant women. When the verse “That they should draw their veils over their bosoms” was revealed, they tore their thick outer garments and made veils from them.( Sunan Abu Dawud Book 027, Hadith Number 4091.
Chapter : On the meaning of the quranic verse that they should draw their veils over their bosoms.)

Ibn al-Sarh said: I saw (this tradition) in the writing of my maternal uncle from ‘Aqil, from Ibn Shihab through a different chain of narrators and to the same effect.
Narated By Umar(Radiallahuanhu) : I said, “O Allah’s Apostle(Sallallahuleihiwasallam)! Good and bad persons enter upon you, so I suggest that you order the mothers of the Believers (i.e. your wives) to observe veils.” Then Allah revealed the Verses of Al-Hijab(Sahih Al Bukhari Volumn 006, Book 060, Hadith Number 313)

Narated By ‘Aisha(Radiallahuanha) : (The wife of the Prophet) when Allah’s Apostle(Sallallahuleihiwasallam) was ordered to give option to his wives, he(Sallallahuleihiwasallam) started with me, saying, “I am going to mention to you something, but you shall not hasten (to give your reply) unless you consult your parents.” The Prophet(Sallallahuleihiwasallam) knew that my parents would not order me to leave him. Then he said, “Allah says: ‘O Prophet (Muhammad) (Sallallahuleihiwasallam)! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world and its glitter… a great reward.” (33.28-29) I said, “Then why I consult my parents? Verily, I seek Allah, His Apostle(Sallallahuleihiwasallam) and the Home of the Hereafter.” Then all the other wives of the Prophet(Sallallahuleihiwasallam) did the same as I did(Sahih Al Bukhari Volumn 006, Book 060, Hadith Number 309)
SubhanAllah how swiftly the followed the Decree of ALLAH Azzawajal.

There are a lot of hadiths that deals with hijab. Few has been mentioned above and there are more like

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 027, Hadith Number 4092.
——————————
Chapter : How much beauty can a woman display.

Narated By ‘Aisha(Radiallahuanha), Ummul Mu’minin : Asma, daughter of Abu Bakr, entered upon the Apostle of Allah (pbuh) wearing thin clothes. The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) turned his attention from her. He said: O Asma’, when a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it does not suit her that she displays her parts of body except this and this, and he pointed to her face and hands.
(many people refer to his Hadith as saying niqab is not necessary but this isn’t right as we can clearly see in the verse 59 of Surat Al Ahzab about the necessity of Niqab too. InshaAllah keep an eye on the next note where I will share the fatwa on niqab in light of the Quran and Hadiths given by highest eminent scholars)

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 027, Hadith Number 4104.
——————————
Chapter : Wearing of fine linen by women.

Narated By Dihyah ibn Khalifah al-Kalbi(Radiallahuanha) : The Apostle of Allah (Sallallahuleihiwasallam)brought some pieces of fine Egyptian linen and he gave me one and said: Divide it into two; cut one of the pieces into a shirt and give the other to your wife for veil. Then when he turned away, he said: And order your wife to wear a garment below it and not show her figure.

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 027, Hadith Number 4100.
——————————
Chapter : On the meaning of the quranic verse and say to the beleiving woman that they should lower their gaze.

Narated By Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu’minin(Radiallahuanha) : I was with the Apostle of Allah (Sallallahuleihiwasallam) while Maymunah was with him. Then Ibn Umm Maktum came. This happened when we were ordered to observe veil (purdah). The Prophet (Sallallahuleihiwasallam) said: Observe veil from him. We asked: Apostle of Allah! is he not blind? He can neither see us nor recognise us. The Prophet (pbuh) said: Are both of you blind? Do you not see him?

May Allah Guide us all to the right Path and Indeed He Knows what is in our heart and what we do “For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower”(89:14)

ALLAHU AKBER

Will a woman who does not wear hijaab go to Hell?(Part-1) By: Faiyaz Mujahideen Fesabilillah

If a girl doesn’t wear hijab, does that mean she will go to hell? But what if she reads Salat, Quran regualrly, acts decently, doesn’t look at boys, doesn’t gossip/babckbite etc, will not wearing hijab condem her to hell despite all her good attributes?

AND THE ANSWER IS:
Praise be to Allaah.

First of all it is essential to know that Muslim men and Muslim women are obliged to follow the commands of Allaah and His Messenger, no matter how difficult that may be for people and without feeling shy of other people. The believer who is sincere in his faith is the one who is sincere in carrying out his duty towards his Lord and obeying His commands and avoiding that which He has forbidden. No believer, man or woman, has the right to hesitate or delay with regard to commands; rather he or she should hear and obey immediately, in accordance with words of Allaah (interpretation of the meaning):

“It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allaah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision” [al-Ahzaab 33:36]

This is the case with the believers who are praised by their Lord in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

“The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allaah (His Words, the Qur’aan) and His Messenger, to judge between them, is that they say: “We hear and we obey.” And such are the successful (who will live forever in Paradise).

And whosoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger , fears Allaah, and keeps his duty (to Him), such are the successful” [al-Noor 24:51-52]

Moreover, the Muslim should not look at how small or great the sin is, rather he should look at the greatness and might of the One Whom he is disobeying, for He is the Most Great, the Most High; He is Mighty in strength and Severe in punishment, and His punishment is severe and painful and humiliating. If He exacts vengeance on those who disobey Him, then utter destruction will be their fate. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful (and) severe.

Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter. That is a Day whereon mankind will be gathered together, and that is a Day when all (the dwellers of the heavens and the earth) will be present” [Hood 11:102-103]

A sin may appear insignificant in the eyes of a person when before Allaah it is serious, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“you counted it a little thing, while with Allaah it was very great”

[al-Noor 24:15]

This matter is as some of the scholars said: “Do not look at the smallness of the sin, rather look at the One Whom you are disobeying.” We have to obey Allaah and do as He commands. We must remember that He is watching in secret and in public, and avoid that which He has forbidden.

With regard to belief, if a Muslim who prays commits some sins or bad deeds, he is still a Muslim so long as he does not commit any action which would put him beyond the pale of Islam or do any of the things which nullify Islam. This sinful Muslim will be subject to the will of Allaah in the Hereafter; if He wills He will punish him, and if He wills He will forgive him. If he enters Hell in the hereafter, he will not abide there forever. But no person can be certain as to his fate, as to whether the punishment will befall him or not, because this matter is known only to Allaah.

Sins are divided into two categories, minor and major. Minor sins may be expiated for by prayer, fasting and righteous deeds. Major sins (which are those concerning which a specific warning has been narrated, or for which there is a specific hadd punishment in this world or torment in the Hereafter) cannot be expiated for by righteous deeds. Rather the one who commits such sins has to repent sincerely from them. Whoever repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. There are many kinds of major sins such as lying, zinaa, riba (usury/interest), stealing, not wearing hijaab at all, and so on.

Based on the above, we cannot say for certain whether a woman who does not wear hijaab will enter Hell, but she deserves the punishment of Allaah because she has disobeyed His command to her. With regard to her specific fate, Allaah knows best what it will be. We cannot speak about things of which we have no knowledge, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And follow not (O man, i.e., say not, or do not, or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge. Verily, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart of each of those ones will be questioned (by Allaah)” [al-Israa’ 17:36]

It is sufficient deterrent for the Muslim whose heart is aware to know that if he does a certain action he will be exposed to the punishment of his Lord, because His punishment is severe and painful, and His Fire is hot indeed.

“The Fire of Allaah, kindled,

Which leaps up over the hearts” [al-Humazah 104:6-7]

On the other hand, for the woman who obeys her Lord’s commands – including observing complete hijaab – we hope that she will enter Paradise and attain the victory of salvation from the Fire and its torments.

It is strange indeed that a woman whose character is good, and who prays and fasts and does not look at boys, and avoids gossip and backbiting, does not wear hijaab. If a person really achieves these righteous deeds, this is a strong indication that she loves goodness and hates evil. Let us not forget that prayer prevents immorality and evil, and that good deeds bring more of the same. Whoever fears Allaah concerning his nafs, Allaah will support him and help him against his nafs. It seems that there is much goodness in this Muslim woman, and she is close to the path of righteousness. So she should strive to wear hijaab as her Lord has commanded her. She should ignore the specious arguments and resist the pressures of her family. She should not listen to the words of those who criticize her, and she should ignore the specious arguments of those sinful women who want to make a display of themselves according to fashion, and she should resist the desires of her own self which may tempt her to show off her beauty and feel proud of it. She should adhere to that which will afford her protection and modesty, and rise above being a mere commodity to be enjoyed by every evil person who comes and goes. She should refuse to be a source of temptation to the slaves of Allaah. We appeal to her faith and her love for Allaah and His Messenger, and we urge her to observe the hijaab enjoined by Allaah and to obey the commands of Allaah (interpretation if the meanings):

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband’s fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss” [al-Noor 24:31]

“and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance, and perform As Salaah (Iqamat as Salaah), and give Zakaah and obey Allaah and His Messenger”[al-Ahzaab 33:33]

And Allaah is the Source of strength and the Guide to the Straight Path.

Islam Q&A
Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid

A methodology for achieving victory(Part-2). By: Faiyaz Mujahideen Fesabilillah

continued……

They will heal this Ummah from disease and decay, testifying the Truth, and become a shield against the concepts, doctrines, ideologies and innovations, which endanger the beauty of Islam and distort its foundations. They are

“those who remain righteous, when people become vicious”
(Narrated by Imam Ahmad, Ibn Hibban and others),

and they are

“a small group of righteous believers among the majority, steeped in iniquity”.
(Narrated by Imam Ahmad, Ibn Hibban and others)

They are

“those who strictly follows the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (pbuh), as well as on what the first generation of Mohajir and Ansar came together, and those who truly followed them”.
(Ibn Taymiyyah. Majmu al Fatawa, 2 / 375)

They are those

“who adhere to aqidah, speech and actions of the Messenger (pbuh) of Allah and his companions”.
(Ibn Baaz. “Words of Advice Regarding Da’wah”, p. 50)

They are – “the victorious group” (al-Taifa al-Mansoura), about which the Prophet (pbuh) said:

“There will never cease to remain a group from my Ummah fighting upon the command of Allah, subjugating their enemies. They are not harmed by those who oppose them, until the Hour arrives”.
(Narrated by Imam Muslim)

And in the version of Muslim and Bukhari:

“… those who leave them”.

And also:

“There will never cease to exist a group from my Ummah fighting upon the Truth, manifest against those who oppose them, until the last of them fight Al-Masih ad-Dajjal”.
(Narrated by Abu Dawud, Kitab Al-Jihad 3/11, and in Mustadrak Al-Hakim, Kitaab Al-Jihad 2/71; Kitaab Al-Fitan 4/450. This narration was declared “Sahih”, by Ibn Jarir At-Tabari in “Musnad Umar”, 2/825, Al-Albani in “Sahih Abi Dawud”, #2484)

It should be noted that all the hadiths about al-Taifa al-Mansoura referred to the fact that the jihad in the way of Allah – is continuous process, and it will be ongoing until the last Hour, without stopping for a moment.

And from that follows that regardless of the condition of the Muslims – whether they are strong or weak, sublimed or humiliated, a group, fighting in the way of Allah, does not cease to exist until the Day of Judgment comes. And, indeed, it will be victorious!

Despite the apparent might of infidelity and seeming weakness of this Ummah today, really, One Allah knows the true state of affairs. And as He, Glorious and Exalted, said:

“It is only the Shaitan that causes you to fear from his friends, but do not fear them, and fear Me if you are believers”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verse 175)

And also:

“For the present Allah has made light your burden, and He knows that there is weakness in you; so if there are a hundred patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a thousand they shall overcome two thousand by Allah’s permission, and Allah is with the patient”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 8. “The Spoils of War”, verse 66)

And also:

“Those to whom the people said: Surely men have gathered against you, therefore fear them, but this increased their faith, and they said: Allah is sufficient for us and most excellent is the Protector. So they returned with favor from Allah and (His) grace, no evil touched them and they followed the pleasure of Allah; and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verses 173-174)

Obviously the power of Allah is extended also over the infidels. They are reachable for Him. However, the essence of this life – is a test. As it said by Almighty Allah:

“What! do you think that you will be left alone while Allah has not yet known those of you who have struggled hard and have not taken any one as an adherent besides Allah and His Apostle and the believers; and Allah is aware of what you do”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 9. “The Repentance”, verse 16)

And also:

“If a wound has afflicted you (at Ohud), a wound like it has also afflicted the (unbelieving) people; and We bring these days to men by turns, and that Allah may know those who believe and take witnesses from among you; and Allah does not love the unjust. And that He may purge those who believe and deprive the unbelievers of blessings. Do you think that you will enter the garden while Allah has not yet known those who strive hard from among you, and (He has not) known the patient”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verses 140-142)

It is through jihad that Allah tests the truthfulness of His servants. Indeed,

“if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 47. “Muhammad”, verse 4)

At the same time, the jihad is not only a test but also the greatest mercy of Allah for His servants and a guarantor of the best prospects. As it said about by the Sheikh-ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah in his book Kitab al-Jihad (2 / 63):

“Either victory and triumph or martyrdom and paradise. So those who will live out of the Mujahideen, honor and reward of Dunya to them, as well as a great reward in Ahyra. And those of them who will die, go to Jannat”.

Almighty Allah said:

“And whoever strives hard, he strives only for his own soul; most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above (need of) the worlds”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 6. “The Spider”, verse 6)

So, the best preparation for the believers is to fix the soul and bringing acts into conformity with the norms of Islam, the fundamental basis necessary for victory is the God-fearing. That, in other matters, does not hinder in any way the strategic planning and formation of resources.

As the Almighty said about it:

“And let not those who disbelieve think that they shall come in first; surely they will not escape. And prepare against them what force you can and horses tied at the frontier, to frighten thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them, whom you do not know (but) Allah knows them; and whatever thing you will spend in Allah’s way, it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be dealt with unjustly”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 8. “The Spoils of War”, verses 59-60)

Material, military training is a precondition for success. This is the same base on which the Muslims will gain opportunity to fight on the Path of Allah, thus bringing the realization of Allah’s promises. But above all, Allah made the victory depending on conviction and iman, as He, Exalted, said:

“And whoever takes Allah and His apostle and those who believe for a guardian, then surely the party of Allah are they that shall be triumphant”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 5. “The Spoils of War”, verse 56)

• The fourth rule. Weakness as a characteristic of the current condition of the Ummah – the fruit of a lack of conditions for the implementation of the promises of Allah. In other words, the absence of a victory is the result of failure to properly measure two aspects of its achievement – the spiritual and material.

It is a religious degradation, and as a consequence, a lack of understanding of this religion. The spread of sin and disobedience led to weakness and passivity inherent today in Muslims. Many abandon jihad on the Path of Allah, therefore, steeped in misconceptions and fear before created, prefer submission to infidelity instead of the illusion of its own security.

Almighty Allah said:

“Whatever benefit comes to you (O man!), it is from Allah, and whatever misfortune befalls you, it is from yourself”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 4. “The Women”, verse 79)

And also:

“And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults)”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 42. “The Consultation”, verse 30)

“Surely Allah does not do any injustice to men, but men are unjust to themselves”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 10. “Jonah”, verse 44)

But this rule was not an exception even for the best generation of this Ummah. Disobedience of individual Muslims will certainly hurt the entire community. So, in the Day of Uhud the defeat, wounds and death were the result of disobedience to the commandment of the Prophet (pbuh) in the some fighting. As the Almighty Allah said about that:

“What! when a misfortune befell you, and you had certainly afflicted (the unbelievers) with twice as much, you began to say: Whence is this? Say: It is from yourselves; surely Allah has power over all things”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verse 165)

A methodology for achieving victory(Part-1). By: Faiyaz Mujahideen Fesabilillah

In the Name of Allah, The Merciful, The Compassionate!

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds! Peace and blessings be upon the messenger of Allah Muhammad, upon his family and all his righteous companions! Whomever Allah guides, cannot be led astray and whomever Allah misguides, none can guide him. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped except Allah alone, Who has no associates, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

And then:

• The first rule of achieving victory lies in the fact that

“victory is only from Allah”
(The Holy Quran, Surah 8. “The Spoils of War”, verse 10. Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verse 126)

This verse is a denial of a very possibility of the existence of any other source of victory, but from Almighty Allah, Who said:

“If Allah assists you, then there is none that can overcome you, and if He forsakes you, who is there then that can assist you after Him? And on Allah should the believers rely”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verse 160)

Neither armed power, nor a large number of troops, as such, is unable to give a desired result, except as from the Pleasure of Allah. An instructive historical episode, narrated in the Quran, is a bright demonstrative argument to this:

“Certainly Allah helped you in many battlefields and on the day of Hunain, when your great numbers made you vain, but they availed you nothing and the earth became strait to you notwithstanding its spaciousness, then you turned back retreating. Then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Apostle and upon the believers, and sent down hosts which you did not see, and chastised those who disbelieved, and that is the reward of the unbelievers”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 9. “The Repentance”, verses 25-26)

The Almighty Allah first gave Muslims a victory, despite that visible factors predicted a collapse, and then He gave a defeat, just when the probability of success was great, so that the believers set hope only upon Him, Glorious and Exalted, knowing that “victory is only from Allah”.

Verily,

“how often has a small party vanquished a numerous host by Allah’s permission, and Allah is with the patient”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 2. “The Cow”, verse 249)

As the Prophet (pbuh) said about that: “…if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you…”

“That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 47. “Muhammad”, verse 11)

and, indeed,

“He is the best of the helpers”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verse 150)

• The second rule is based on a promise of victory and help, which the Almighty Allah gave to His faithful servants:

“And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants. Most surely they shall be the assisted ones. And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 37. “Those Who Set The Ranks”, verses 171-173)

Allah Almighty also said:

“… surely Allah will help him who helps His cause; most surely Allah is Strong, Mighty”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 22. “The Pilgrimage”, verse 40)

The Almighty Allah has taken on Him an obligation to protect the believers:

“And certainly We sent before you apostles to their people, so they came to them with clear arguments, then We gave the punishment to those who were guilty; and helping the believers is ever incumbent on Us”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 30. “The Romans”, verse 47)

Allah, the Holy and Great, said:

“Apostles before you were rejected, but they were patient on being rejected and persecuted until Our help came to them; and there is none to change the words of Allah, and certainly there has come to you some information about the apostles”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 6. “The Cattle”, verse 34)

Indeed, “there is none to change the words of Allah”. There is none to change His decisions. As stated in the Quran:

“When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, Be, so there it is”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 2. “The Cow”, verse 117)

The promise of victory over the enemies, foreordained to the believers, will find an embodiment not only in the future, but in this life.

Allah the Almighty said:

“Allah has promised to those of you who believe and do good that He will most certainly make them rulers in the earth as He made rulers those before them, and that He will most certainly establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them, and that He will most certainly, after their fear, give them security in exchange; they shall serve Me, not associating aught with Me; and whoever is ungrateful after this, these it is who are the. transgressors”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 24. “The Light”, verse 55)

And also:

“And those who disbelieved said to their apostles: We will most certainly drive you forth from our land, or else you shall come back into our religion. So their Lord revealed to them: Most certainly We will destroy the unjust. And most certainly We will settle you in the land after them; this is for him who fears standing in My presence and who fears My threat”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 14. “Abraham”, verses 13-14)

After all, verily, Allah helped His Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), when he was in a cave, without army and weapons. And He did not leave His Messenger (pbuh) and his companions without a support of in the battle of Badr. And He gave victory to the Messenger (pbuh) and the Muslims in the Battle of the Trench. By His angels, by His army, by wind, and numerous other methods worthy of His majesty Allah always helped true believers in Him, who do not spare neither their lives, nor property in the way of Allah and for the sake of His religion.

As Allah the Almighty said:

“O you who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 47. “Muhammad”, verse 7)

The victory of Muslims – is a promise of Allah, therefore there is no doubt in its implementation. But sometimes all of us have not enough patience.

Imam al-Bukhari cites in his authentic collection (3639) from Khabbab ibn al-Aratt what he said:

“I went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while he was using his cloak as a pillow in the shade of the Kaaba, and we had encountered persecution from the idolaters. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, why do you not make supplication for us?’

He sat up and his face had become red and said, ‘Among those before you there was a man who was raked with metal teeth leaving no flesh or sinews on his bones, but that did not turn him from his deen (religion). A saw was planed on the top of his head and he was sawed in half, but that did not turn him from his deen. Allah will complete this business so that a rider will be able to travel from San’a’ to Hadramawt fearing none but Allah,’ and he added for clarification, ‘and wolves against his sheep'”.

One should remember the words of Allah:

“Surely the help of Allah is nigh!”
(The Holy Quran, Surah 2. “The Cow”, verse 214)

“(This is) Allah’s promise! Allah will not fail His promise, but most people do not know”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 30. “The Romans”, verse 6)

Obviously, this victory will not be realized by dreams and desires alone, but can become a reality only with the help of Allah through diligence in His Way. Allah the Almighty helps His servant, who is making efforts in the name of Him and His religion. The man, whom Allah helps, none can overcome him!

Almighty said:

“If Allah assists you, then there is none that can overcome you, and if He forsakes you, who is there then that can assist you after Him? And on Allah should the believers rely”.
(The Holy Quran, Surah 3. “The Family of Imran”, verse 160)

• The third rule is that victory is destined only for true believers.

Sunna of Allah is in the history of mankind, and His promise point out that the Almighty Allah has raised up a small group from this Ummah – scholars, making call (du’aat), thinkers, intellectuals, and the Mujahideen, who will fight for the Truth, raising high the banner of Tawheed, confronting hordes of misguided ignorant, spiteful servants of Taghut and intriguing infidels who are trying to extinguish the light of this religion. And it will always be like that. As it said by the Prophet (pbuh):

“And not a single group from my Ummah, standing for protection of the religion of Allah, will disappear, and those who disagree with them will not interfere till the Doomsday”.
(Imam Muslim)

The real meaning of ‘uboodiyyah (true submission to Allaah) – PART 1. By: Abu Haneef Mohamed Riswan

‘Ibaadah (worship) in Arabic means submission and humbling oneself. The Arabs use the phrase tareeq mu’abbad to describe a smooth path which has been become smooth because so many feet have walked on it.

In Islamic terminology the word ‘ibaadah is used in two senses:

1 – The actions of a person, such as praying or paying zakaah, which are described as ‘ibaadah. The scholars defined it as follows:

It means obeying Allaah by doing that which He has commanded and avoiding that which He has forbidden, whilst loving Allaah, fearing Him and putting one’s hopes in Him.

2 – It also refers to the action itself in abstract terms, such as prayer, zakaah, etc. The scholars defined it as follows:

This is a comprehensive word which includes all word and deeds that Allaah loves and is pleased with, both outward and inward.

These enjoined actions are called ‘ibaadaat (acts of worship) because people do them in humility and with love for their Lord. In worshipping Allaah there has to be complete love as well as complete submission to Him.

Our Lord has told us that the ultimate purpose behind the creation of the jinn and mankind is so that they will worship Him alone with no partner or associate. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And I (Allaah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)”

[al-Dhaariyaat 51:56]

How can we achieve this purpose and fulfil this goal?

Many people think that ‘ibaadah only refers to a number of rituals that Allaah has commanded should be done at certain times – such as prayer, fasting and Hajj – and that this is the end of the matter. But it is not as these people think.

How long does it take to do these rituals of worship every day and night. Indeed how long does it take in a person’s lifetime? What about the rest of his life then? What about the rest of his energy? What about the rest of his time? How should it be spent and where does it go? Should he spend it in worship or something else? If he is going to spend it in something other than worship, then how can he fulfil the purpose for which mankind was created, which the verse limited completely to worship of Allaah? How can he fulfil the words of Allaah (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say (O Muhammad): Verily, my Salaah (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists)”

[al-An’aam 6:162]?

‘Uboodiyyah is a holistic matter that encompasses the life of the Muslim. When he strives in the land seeking provision he is worshipping Allaah, because Allaah has commanded him to do that, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision. And to Him will be the Resurrection”

[al-Mulk 67:15]

When he sleeps, he sleeps so as to gather strength to worship Allaah, as Mu’aadh ibn Jabal (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “I seek reward for my sleep just as I seek reward for praying qiyaam” (narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4342).

Indeed the Muslim is not content unless his pleasure in eating, drinking and marital relations is counted in the scale of his good deeds, as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “In the intimacy of one of you there is sadaqah (charity, a good deed).” They said: “O Messenger of Allaah, if one of us satisfies his desires will he be rewarded for that?” He said: “What do you think, if you were to do it in a haraam way, would you not have a burden of sin?” They said, “Yes.” He said: “Similarly if he does it in a halaal way he will have a reward.” Narrated by Muslim, 1006.

Secrecy of Private Matters (Guarding Secrets). By: Abdi Qadir شريف

Asalamu’aleykum warahmatulahi ta’ala wabarakatu

Bismillahir Rahmani Rahiim Alhamdulilahi Rabbil Alamiin wasalatu wasalamu ala ashrafil mursalin nebiyuna wa habibuna Muhamad salalahu aleyhi wa ala ahlihi wa ashabihi wabarik wasalim tasaliman kathira

Allah, the Exalted, says:

“And fulfill (every) covenant. Verily! The covenant, will be questioned about.” (17:34)

Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The most evil of the people to Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be the man who consorts with his wife and then publicizes her secret.”
[Muslim].

Abdullah bin `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: My father `Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: When (his daughter) Hafsah (May Allah be pleased with her) became a widow, I met `Uthman bin `Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) and offered Hafsah for marriage to him. `Uthman said: “I shall think over the matter.” I waited for a few days and then `Uthman met me and said: “It occurred to me that I should not marry at present.” Then I met Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) and said to him: “If you are willing, I shall marry my daughter Hafsah to you.” Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) remained silent and did not utter any word to me in reply. I grew more angry with him than with `Uthman. I had waited for only a few days when Messenger of Allah (PBUH) asked for her hand in marriage and I married her to him. Thereafter, I met Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) who said, “Perhaps you were angry with me when you offered Hafsah to me and I said nothing in reply.” I said, “Yes, that is so.” He said, “Nothing stopped me to respond to your offer except that I knew that Messenger of Allah (PBUH) had mentioned her and I could not disclose the secret of Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Had Messenger of Allah (PBUH) left her, I would have accepted her.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: On one occasion all the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) were with him when his daughter, Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) who walked after the style of his father, came there. He (PBUH) welcomed her saying, “Welcome, O my daughter”, and made her sit on his right side, or on his left side and then whispered something to her at which she wept bitterly. When he perceived her grief, he talked secretly to her again and she smiled (with happiness). I said to her: “Messenger of Allah (PBUH chose you from amongst all his wives to speak secretly to you and yet you cried.” When he left, I asked her, “What did Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say to you?” She said, “I will not divulge the secret of Messenger of Allah (PBUH).” When Messenger of Allah (PBUH) passed away, I said to her: “I adjure you by the right I have in respect of you to tell me what Messenger of Allah (PBUH) had told you.” She said: “Now (when Messenger of Allah (PBUH) has died), I will tell you. When he whispered to me the first time, he told me, `Jibril (Gabriel) used to listen to my recitation of the Qur’an and then recite it back to me once or twice a year, and this time he has done it twice; and so I perceive that my death is approaching. Then be mindful of your duty to Allah and be patient and steadfast, for I shall be an excellent predecessor for you.’ On this I wept as you saw. When he perceived my distress he talked to me secretly the second time and said, `O Fatimah, are you not pleased that you will be the chief among the believing women or of this Ummah?’ This made me smile as you saw.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Thabit (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to me while I was playing with the boys. He greeted us and sent me on an errand. This delayed my return to my mother. When I came to her, she asked, “What detained you?” I said; “Messenger of Allah (PBUH) sent me on an errand.” She asked, “What was it?” I said, “It is a secret.” My mother said; “Do not disclose to anyone the secret of Messenger of Allah (PBUH).” Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said to Thabit (May Allah be pleased with him): By Allah, were I to tell it to anyone I would have told you.
[Muslim].

Commentary: Here, too, an emphasis has been laid on keeping a secret. When Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) told his mother about the cause of secrecy, she refrained from insisting that the secret should be disclosed to her. Rather, she lent support to her son’s standpoint and advised him to conceal the secret. To be sure, it is part of moral teaching that we should keep the secrets of friends in our hearts. Unless we receive a go-ahead from a friend, we must not make his secret public.

Insha’Allah pass it on if possible make effort for this great deen to spread its the way forwerd and towerds Allah’s pleasure may Allah (swt) make us those who guard secrets Allahuma ameen

Allah will not Change the Condition of a People until They Change Themselves. By: Laila Sultanova

Allah will not Change the Condition of a People until They Change Themselves
Quite often the servant of Allah is granted abundant blessings but he becomes bored and longs to change it for another which he claims is better. In fact, Allah, the Merciful does not deprive him of this blessing, and He excuses him for his ignorance and bad choice until the servant is unable to bear the blessing, feels discontent, and complains about it. Then Allah will take it away from him. When he gets what he wished for and sees the great difference between what he had before and what he has now, he is filled with worry and regret and he wishes to have what he had before. If Allah wishes good for His servant, He would make him see that whatever blessings he now has is from Allah and He will show him that Allah is pleased with him, and the servant would praise Him. If he is deceived by his soul to change this blessing, he would ask Allah for guidance. There is nothing more harmful to the servant than becoming bored from the blessings of Allah; as he neither sees them as a blessing, praises Allah for them, nor is happy with them but he becomes bored, complains, and considers them as a means of distress. He does not think that these things are from the greatest blessings of Allah. The majority of people are opposed to the blessings of Allah. They do not feel the blessings of Allah, and moreover, they exert their effort to drive them away because of their ignorance and injustice. How often is a blessing bestowed on a person while he is exerting his effort to drive it away and how often does he actually receive it while he is pushing it away, simply because of his ignorance and injustice. Allah says, “That is so because Allah will never change agrace which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves.” (Al-Antal, 8:53) And He, the Almighty says,”Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah).” (Ar-Ra’d, 13:11)
What can be worse than the enmity of a servant toward the blessings he has received? In so doing, he supports his enemy against himself. His enemy arouses fire in his blessings and he increases the fire unawares. He enables his enemy to light the fire and then he helps his own enemy to blow on it until it becomes strong. Finally, he seeks help against the fire and blames fate
